Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services' largest division, VRS provides individualized employment- and education-related services and training to assist youth and adults with disabilities achieve their employment goal. The goal of VRS is to enable individuals with disabilities to increase self-sufficiency through employment. For Alabamians with disabilities, VRS strives to enhance employment opportunities and empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential.
The Light Duty Return to Work Program allows an employee to continue working while recovering from an on the job injury. This is a 24 week program that allows the employer to place the worker in the department and insuring that the workers has reasonable accommodations to recover, and still get a pay check.
